Due to regional weather, Auxiliary patrols begin in April. Be sure to check with local Lifeguards before launching your vessel.  Afternoon winds can be strong and can generate dangerous wave conditions. Local water temperatures are in the 40s so protect yourself with proper clothing. With that temperature, in-water exposure severely limits the survival time. Adequate emergency signaling devices can save your life.
