Santa Clarita Valley Area

The Santa Clarita area is located north of the Los Angeles San Fernando Valley. Although it is within an hour's drive of the ocean access at Marina Del Rey, Ventura or Oxnard, the local rolling mountains and valleys are dotted by beautiful lakes such as Lake Castaic, Lake Piru and Lake Pyramid. The lakes are popular for fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing, personal watercraft and are common location sites for film production companies.

Make sure your boat or watercraft is properly outfitted (catch one of our Auxiliary VSC teams and we'll be happy to take a look - with no obligation or consequence). Familiarize yourself with the facilities on the lake and carry a VHF radio for contact with Lifeguards, Lake Security Police or Auxiliary Patrol in case of emergency. Recreational boating can be great fun but requires planning and preparation.
